At least Maxx can correctly recognize irony. Cyril should be proud of him.

I knew I would have to sell this comic using the characters’ expressions, and was worried at first that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off… then I drew Cyril’s face in panel 4, and was reassured.

    Eck… killing off a character this randomly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Heres hoping somethings done about Ina.

      Agreed. Otherwise this event crosses even the Star Trek line for episode self-nullification.

        No. It had meaning to the characters, it didn’t nullify itself. it just really, really sucked

        It depends on whether Cyril is a complete wreck from now on for a long time. If he recovers quickly and this is just reserved for an eventual re-emergence… Star Trek plot.

        I think we haven’t seen the last of Ina, because it would be really… weird for this comic if nothing did.

      Nobody killed a character, they were already dead! and i hope this is the last of ina… i never liked her.

      as i said in the last comic, Cyril is an NPC, NPCs re-spawn. Ina, NPC or not, married an NPC, and can now be considered one. she’ll hopefully re-spawn back at Maxx’s base with the demo and merchant.

    I love how maxx still refuses to show any sane human emotion about this.

    It really shows character development. Maxx went from being a loveable idiot to a now hateable idiot, and you begin to feel for the side characters more than the protagonist.

    There’s appears to be a line where Cyril-baiting is concerned, where you either ruin his day in a light hearted, funny way, or something like this, where you wreck his life with your absolute evil-ness and cold hearted cruelty. This line has been crossed this day, Jesse.
    Still a good comic though, of course.
