I considered having Mike deliver a final zinger in the last panel there, but in the end decided that the comic worked best with Remiel’s line being the last. I think it was xkcdsucks that coined the term “post-punchline dialogue”, and ever since reading that blog I try to avoid PPD whenever possible.
(Don’t read xkcdsucks if you’re underage. It’s extremely inappropriate.)
For anyone wondering about the future of LoM: between settling into a new job and planning a wedding (mine), I’ve been very busy lately. But, I’m resolved to draw new comics whenever I find the time, and hopefully after things settle down I’ll find that this happens more and more often.

We know what the Grief is, though. A long time ago, all of the original angels died somehow or other, leaving these inexperienced interns in their place. I assume it had something to do with a mortal seeing what was under an angel’s mask, but that’s only conjecture at this point.
Seems legit
To me, the plot point of the Grief seems fairly new. I believe it might be Jesse’s way of dealing with the more recently added Hardmode content in Terraria. This comic did start way before that stuff was in the game, so the original plot stuff probably didn’t cover all of it.
tl;dr: The Grief=Everything Past the Mech Bosses.
