      However, something tells me that this isn’t the end of Xylan. My own thought on the “shank” theory was that Xane was using some form of illusion magic to look like Maxx. Hence the “ya gotta do what ya gotta do” line from Xane. I was just too lazy to post it then.

    Now I’m wondering what’s up with Xylan. (He is Xylan, right? I’m sorry, can’t keep those two straight.) Is he just weakened? Surely he won’t die yet. Will he heal himself and attack them? Or will he faint from blood loss and let them escape?

    No, they aren’t just gonna walk out of there. We’ve still got Xane to worry about. Wonder where he is. And what about the goblin and his new…er…partner? Will Xane capture the team and toss them in the same dungeon as the goblin-tinkerer dude?

    Oh, dear. More poor souls for Pixelated Pinky Pie to hurt with her inventions. Riposa in pace, my dear Maxx.

    LOL! Just went back and looked at the comic where Maxx un-shanks the sword. Knahs? Awesome.

    I wonder if they’re all so surprised in that last panel because they’re looking- not at Maxx- but behind him, at Xylan as he regenerates himself!

    But if they are actually staring at Maxx, I can only guess how he must feel. I mean, come…

      Congratulations! Both parts of your comment make sense. You have won the internet. Anyways, it really wouldn’t make sense for any of the other chosen ones to have gotten the muramasa, because, you know, not many people can get shanked then mugged like that twice.

    Why DO they look surprised? This sort of hair-brained scheme is 100% in line with Maxx’s way of thinking. Hell, I knew he was gonna pull a double-cross on the Naiad the second he claimed he’d converted to the Corruption. The lack of the Masamune in his hands last comic only confirmed it, as he would never go over to evil for reals unless it came with an awesome new sword.

    Cyril is suprised because you had DEMON POWERS within your reach and turned them down.

    Hanna is suprised because you have a great poker face and just threatened to kill her friends. (even if it was a bluff)

    June is suprised because you just restored her faith in the world and she´s not used to the feeling yet.

    I´m not to good with fairys but I think Aley is suprised either because you did something without exploiting him or because noone have asked about a pint of beer in a while.

    Either that or you have a smudge on your face.

    Or something is going on behind you.

    Now that Xylan is defeated, I think the new suspense is going to be Xane. While the party tries to leave the dungeon, Xane jumps out with bloody rage, tries to stop them, Maxx tries to use the Muramasa, and probably Xane almost have defeated them but gets killed or heavily wounded at the end. What do you guys think about that?

      OR, Xane survives to extract revenge in the future.
      But yeah, Xylan might actually be dead (dying). That´s quite a fleshwound he got there.

      good point, he is an npc, so that means he will come back for revenge. the look on Cyril’s face could be him knowing that Xylan is an NPC and so he knows the dark secret of respawning at dawn, while all the other NPCs don’t know that (with the exception of Tyrone, since he dies and comes back a lot, which means he knows that secret too). When June becomes surprised that Xylan is back, Cyril better start talking.

        or Xylan will wait till they are gone out of the room and then use a healing potion so he doesn’t die.

      Except, he’s not. Only town NPC’s and the Old Man respawn after dying, and everyone but the NPC’S that come because of Maxx are actually NPC’S. They’re more like mobs. Otherwise, people in this ENTIRE WORLD would NEVER DIE.

      I don’t consider him as an NPC. NPCs are said to respawn because of their less importance. Xylan has played a huge role being king.

      Not really, if this was Game of thrones, Maxx would’ve stabbed Xylan, Hanny would have thrown her axe at Maxx, June would secretly be working with the Niaid and stab Hanny, and Guidey would go crazy and rabbit storm everyone because Hanny got killed.

    If you think about it, you could have seen this coming, maxx’s Prophecy is as the destroyer of worlds, not the corruptor of worlds.

    for June: ACHIEVEMENT GET!!! have a hero finally get to the Dungeon and get the Muramasa!!!

    reason: every other hero June has had never even got past getting the Blade of Grass because the Dryad Elders always rejected the heros she has had. the only reason why Maxx got it is because he knows how to be likable.
