Comic #343

Happy new year! Hope you enjoy the first comic of 2014!

It’s not often that I do purely physical comics like this, and it’s a challenge trying to make them funny with the limited size of the characters. But it’s a fun challenge, for the most part!

To clear up, Hannah was listing the phobias that Cyril has acquired since Maxx arrived. The full list is a lot more extensive.

Sorry for missing the last comic, everyone! Things came up. I’ll be back home after Saturday, so once I’ve settled down again the schedule should get back on track.

  1. Those must be thin robes, Fire seeped through them like nothing. (And I’m disappointed by the lack of smoke. Normally silk burns stronger.)

    1. And before anyone points it out, Yes I did notice that small amount of smoke. I’m just saying it was “Below satisfactory”.

  2. Heheheh… phobingo
Wait… where did Maxx’ hat go in the last panel?
Is Maxx planning to suffocate Cyril with it and make him afraid of hats?
Do the magic words ‘pat pat pat’ make his hat disappear?

    We’ll just never know.

      1. Odds are the ice melted too slowly to put out the fire, The occasional drops weren’t enough to put out.

      1. That brown stuff (A.K.A. A tarp) is most likely the thing being used to carry their supplies.

      2. Nice to see it can double as a Fire Blanket.

Now all Cyril needs to do is turn it into a hammock. (Because Hannah “took” the mattress.)

  3. As I said in the last comic that Cyril was none too thrilled about what they thought up for a back up plan. In fact… uhhhh… got nothing…

    1. Also SEE! Fire on the ice was great idea! Nothing happened to them… though it would of been funny but predictable if they all went in.

    1. Maxx can only function at a very exact temperature, so he must take off his hat whenever it gets slightly warmer so that he doesn’t burn and melt.

Or, Jesse might have made a small mistake.

      I reckon that it’s probably number 2.

  4. I’m a bit dissappointed, I was hoping that the campfire was going to melt the ice beneath them, freezing them all, and then Aley would come and *BWEEEN* them to unfreeze them!

But fiery butt is nice too.

  5. Great first comic of the year, Jesse! haha I like the gentle little pat pat pats in the 8th panel.

  6. Wait, so if that list is just of what happened after meeting Maxx, does that mean that Guide wasn’t afraid of monsters during all that time he was hiding in his little hole getting clawed to shreds every night waiting for a PC to spawn?

    1. If you remember correctly, Cyril found a rock that he was able to half-plug the hole he was hiding in. Odds are this lessened his fear of monsters, Only to have it come back but much worse when Maxx arrived.

  7. what will he be afraid of next dirt or maybe people.
And when is the arms dealer going to be able to live in the town\village without being killed.

      1. He has logic. Never said it was good or bad. It’s Logic that gets things done…
        Somehow

      2. ”Logic is just being wrong with authority.”

The second Doctor from one of our British Dramas.

  8. That one guy no one knows

I think Cyril quit being a guide and became a painter because in the game you can get painter named Cyril.

    1. SPOILERS !!! There are ppl who havnt finished a lot in terraria so they don’t know of the painter ! Maybe:p

      1. You realize the painter is
        A. Not useful at all.
        B. Comes VERY early in the game.
        C. Has been out for several months.

    1. you must have missed the comics when cyril was up a tree being picked to death by birds…

(what does ‘OBVOS’ mean? it doesnt mean obvious does it?)

  9. Cyril didn’t like water before Maxx came though, so did he develop the phobia after his first cave adventure with Maxx (which would do it) or did you forget about that?

    1. Clearly you were not paying attention to the comics. That is where they are going now. It’s just an avalanche buried them in a cave and they are looking for a way out seeing as Aley’s laser might of cut straight through the mountain they would of needed to climb.

      1. Still looking for that DVD for the Looney Toons (Not Looney Toons Show). I loved watching some of the semi-classic cartoons.
