Have you thought of putting anything in the subtext (The thing that comes up when you hover your cursor over the image)? I used to read this other webcomic, and the guy who was writing it wrote an entire story in the subtext, one sentence per comic. Alternatively you could just put a little side-joke like XKCD does. Anyway, good luck on your future endeavors!

XD aww, this reminds me of me when I play Terraria, start off with a basic house for the guide, then once I have more materials and NPCs I go all out on their houses while he remains with a small square boring wooden house 🙁 Such is the life of a poor guidey.
