Comic #213

I guess you could say that their opinions of each other aren’t exactly on the same level.

A huge, huge thanks to my sister Emily for providing the artwork for today’s comic! When I had the idea to show June and Maxx’s visualizations of each other, I knew my own meager skills as a pixel artist just wouldn’t cut it, so I brought in the big guns. Hope you enjoy this very unique comic!

    1. Somehow I just don’t see Maxx beating the wall of flesh. He is too incompetent. If he keeps beating everything with dumb luck the comic will get old and I don’t want to see that happen. I see this as the moment he gets a reason to grow up, but never fully because then it wouldn’t be Maxx. Still it will be a while before he gets there he still needs to fight skeletron, find all the components to forge the edge of night, explore the jungle and the underworld and the part I can’t wait for the guide doll. I can’t wait to see what he does with that. Oh and he needs to fight the king slime and goblin army, save the mechanic and the goblin tinkerer, find the floating island scare everyone to death with the lucky horseshoe, get more weapons than just the sword he needs to learn about magic and some thing must get hit by a falling star and Maxx must eat a fallen star, learn alchemy, and turn his bar into a inn so they have beds.

      1. I’m just saying he has a lot of material to work with and it will be interesting to see what he does with it. You need to actually read posts before commenting.

      2. who on this planet would actually read that whole comment?
and if u don’t like LoM, why are u reading it

      3. I don’t know about you but I did…..It’s traditionally smart to read before commenting.

      4. But of course, when future updates come out, then there’s more and more material to work with, and Maxx will just run into more and more Terraria-unrelated events (eg. June’s dirt rod, Aley) and defeat the Wall with those. I’d be surprised if Maxx did not make it into Hardmode and the story continued from there, with some strange explanation of the following events such as the Pumpkin and/or Frost Moon. Also, consider the Lunar Boss and Terraria 2, which could add even more subject matter. Jesse has a lot to work with.

Also, fighting King Slime is not mandatory, nor is Skeletron: the Naiad probably slew him; otherwise the Dungeon Guardians would have attacked the gang when they were… oops, I’m spoiling it. My bad.

  1. XD That’s hilariously great, awesome artwork comment towards your sis, and June’s image of Maxx is just priceless XD

  2. So June sees Maxx as the lost relative of Donkey Kong? The one that actually is kind of an donkey?

  3. If June wasn’t pixelated and was in real life MAAAAANNNN I WANT HER AS MY GIRLFRIEND

  4. So, Maxx likes his girls nearly naked and covered in rotting vegetation? I know that it’s a fantasy cliche that was deliberately invoked, but I never really did like that “vine/chainmail/”robe” bikini for the beautiful creatures” trope. (I want to know why nobody ever bothered to comment on the “fashion sense”… But I suspect it’s because this certainly seems to be a really guy-centered comic, considering the girl-epathy comment earlier.)

  5. This is easily one of my most favorite ones Iv’e seen so far, I was laughing for a good couple of minutes 😀
