In which Gus gets bribed with hot meals and usage of his real name.

Thanks for your patience for the last little while, everyone. I’d like to say that the comic is starting up for realsies again, but the real truth is this: I’m going to be travelling to Asia very soon for a number of months, and won’t be able to keep the comic up in that time. So, it’s going to be a while before The Legend of Maxx is back to stay; probably not until this fall.

I know you’re disappointed, and there’s nothing I’d like better than to be able to keep the comic running smoothly, but I can’t put my other plans aside for its sake. That being said, I plan on keeping in touch with all of you as much as I can while I’m gone. Expect frequent tweets and hopefully some content going up on the site– probably nothing as ambitious as new comics, but content nonetheless.

If you’re worried about the future of The Legend of Maxx, don’t be! I have no plans to end the comic for good. It’s just that when I started the comic, I was a student with little else on his mind than passing my classes and playing video games; in those circumstances it was easy to keep things going. Now I’ve hit a bit of a transitionary phase of my life, and everything is up in the air. Once I’ve settled down I’ll be able to commit to my projects more easily.

Thanks so much to everyone who’s gone out of their way to send me tweets and emails asking how I’m doing or telling me how much they like the comic! You guys are great, and the reason why I started making these comics in the first place.

        I highly doubt I’ll have the time or ability to make comics while I’m gone, but I plan on sharing as many pictures and anecdotes as possible.

      To me, Cheerios taste the same as fruit loops. If not better. Doctor von Vimplegurger, however, iz not beingk of ze same opinion.

        I’m used to the hardcore Cheerios that taste like washers made of cardboard if you don’t put anything else on them, so Froot Loops were always coveted in my household. A good way to cheat the system is to mix one part Froot Loops with five parts Cheerios– the flavor of the Froot Loops is so strong that you’d think you were eating a bowl full of them.

        Anyway.

    Ooh! What are you going to Asia for? Job? Extended sightseeing? Working on your next book?
    Despite how little sense it makes I hope it’s the latter because I really want to read Loria 2. Or I guess Book Two of the Tower Series? Is there a title yet? Will there be another signing?

      Sightseeing is definitely the name of the game for this trip. My second book is on its way! I don’t want to give any concrete dates yet since release is still a ways off, but the process is underway! And I’ll definitely organize another signing if I can.

    It’s good to be back after checkin Jesse’s Twitter 20 times a day. Plus I think jesse’s potery skils have improved. I wonder how goblin town is going to turn out.     Well, I’m sad that we won’t have Maxx & Co for a (possible very long) while, but I’m also glad for you, Jesse, so I hope you have a great time while in Asia and come back with lotsa photos and stories to tell us, right? Now I just have to hope Adventure Time won’t end in the mean time ;-;

    The mechanic is too crazy. I liked how innocent she seemed in the beginning comics with her, especially when Gus actually felt (or at least looked) sorry for her after hearing how long she has been trapped in the cell for.

    (a wrench proof lock? i can see something like this happened: after the … tinkerer, forgot his name sorry, finally gets away from sophia for a minute locks himself away and says he will not come if sophia comes with them. max tries to break the door with a sword he “found” and ends up breaking it, hannah tries to reason with him, cyril tries a spell to do something to the door and ends up putting a rabbit in front of it, aley tries to bribe with ale, all lead to failure but only when june is about to use dirt to break it down sophia steps in and says “let me handle it. step aside.” flashily swings her wrench at the door, hits the knob once, and opens the door to a surprised tinkerer. is commended yet didn’t even think that would work. can totally see that as something that may have happened.)

    Hello, Jesse! Name’s LordSkeleborg, but you can call me LSB. I’d just like to suggest that if you could, try and put other Chosen Ones in the story too! You could put in a Chosen One who could be Maxx’s long lost sister, Maxx’s parents, a long lost brother of Maxx, etc. And they could like Maxx, just, not as stupid as him.

    Buy, all in all, keep up the good work!

      It wouldn’t make sense to have these characters though! Remember that Maxx is a player character. He kinda doesn’t have any parents or siblings.

    Also, does anyone think that the Gossamer Sword looks like the Keybrand from the actual game when you defeat Plantera in Hardmode?

    Oh, and I forgot to mention this, but I’m actually doing a bit of a Fanfic to The Legend Of Maxx, or, TLOM, as I like to call it. I’m including my Terrarians in it to help Maxx, and the start of the first chapter is when Remiel takes Ina away from Cyril, but in the Fanfic, he fails and gets defeated by my OCs.
