And with that, the dungeon is escaped from!

When you jump into a strange person’s vehicle of destruction, it’s important to work out the basics.

I tried to create a sense of urgency with this comic by having numerous, small panels that compress a lot of action into a short comic. I think the effect works well when you read the comic quickly, but I do hope that it’s not difficult to figure out what’s going on.

    I am LOLing. Sophia’s smile and June’s blank stare make a pretty awesomely dangerous combination.

    Why did you choose that sound effect? It’s not bad, I’m just curious. Bkow!

    Notice that June got all of the team onto the Wrenchinator before asking what Soph was doing. Trust, or desperation?

      It was more like if Sophia ended up being a bad guy, June would have thrown her of the Wrenchinator.

        Hey, I just thought of something. Is Cyril still burning up on the inside because of Ina’s disappearance? And what does Hannah think of the whole thing? 0_0 I don’t think she’d be the type to throw a party, but still…

      I would bet June’s dirt road that he’ll just pop up when everyone forgets about him and kill at least 1 person (would be a great idea to kill Tyrone again :D).

        Ya know, I whish this coment thingy had a delete button. And also, being annon dosent mean u suck or are stupid, it’s the person typing, not the name. Named people can be more annoying than most annons so people, stop using annon as an insult, it is a stupid thing to say, and it is like saying all (insert religion, race or group here) are idiots. It’s just not true that they ALl are.

    Maybe its time you renamed the comic to ‘Legend of June’, since she seems to be the main character now…

    Also, this is prime example of Jesse McMinn’s idea of diversity: all the guys are useless shmucks while the girls are the only ones able to accomplish anything.

    Though i ain’t trying to attack anyone here, just pointing some flaws out, so no offence, k?

        He was about to lose it for not finishing the job though. He should have ended Xylan while he was still shocked by the stab.

      Maxx fought the first two bosses,Aley’s been useful several times, if it weren’t for Xane’s haxx, Cyril could have taken him out(I wish we could see more “Smart Guy” out of him, although that might get taken by the Mechanic and Tinkerer)

      No question that June is a complete Mary Sue, but that last bit was totally incorrect. As has been pointed out, ALL of the main characters have contributed. It just so happens that June has not only contributed, but never had any moments where she wasn’t winning.
      The best (worst) part is that June knows she has a limitless amount of plot armor, take note of how she mocks all of her opponents simply because she knows they won’t end up beating her in any way.
      Rant over. I love LoM, but June is my least favorite character.

        June may be a little bit of a Mary Sue (personally I disagree) but at least she’s original and has a funny personality.

        She wouldn’t qualilfy for Mary-Suedom if her negative traits were actually a detriment to her. Like say if her running her mouth caused her to get shanked, instead of having invincibility haxx.

        It’s not that original of a character. I mean, there is a usually old joe (Maxx), a nerdy friend (Guidey) and a kick-butt girl (June). And I wouldn’t really find her personality funny, it get’s annoying after a while. She’s a complete debby-downer.

    This made me laugh quite a bit. Maybe more so then how I have been characterizing the Stylist as the crazy character in my story.

        Much like the time I spent writing a little bit of haiku way back before discovering this comic, I got bored of doing puns every so many comments. Although… a bit late for this one but…

        You could say that Sophia certainly threw a wrench in Xylan’s plans… well more plowed him over with it but details details.

    I already love the Mechanic even there have only been like two comics with her. I wonder when Tyrone next appearance (or rather disappearance) will be.
    Also Jesse are you planning to incorporate every single NPC into the story? At this point in the story I’d say it would be appropriate for the Painter (make him a stereotypical Italian)/ the Dye Trader (make her a know-it-all oldie who does her own thing)/the Angler (make him a really peppy talkative annoying little boy)/the Stylist/the Traveling Merchant (I think it would be cool if he appeared every prime comic as a cameo). Anyways love the direction this comic is heading!

      the Dye Trader is actually a guy, plus you forgot the Party Girl NPC, which is based off of Pinkie Pie from MLP.

      Plus the Witch Doctor NPC comes after beating the Queen Bee boss and the Clothier comes after beating Skeletron.

    I guess there’s going to be and good bond between the mechanic and the nurse or June maybe both I hope she comes on adventures and gets her time to shine like June has for this whole dungeon ,Maxx got his time to shine deafting bosses ,Cyril during the spelunking/mining trip and kathern and Aley durning the walking part of the adventures of Maxx

    Sophia is basically a combination of Maxx and June when you come to think of it, i mean She has the pure adrenaline of Maxx and the power and destruction of June

    It’s good that you’re experimenting, but I don’t feel the strips pacing worked very well. I got the feel rereading it after seeing your authors note, but first time through it was a little confusing.

    It can’t just end like this, where Xylan gets squashed by the Wrenchinator. No way a king of the Naiad would give up that easily. I mean, he was shanked in the stomach, rupturing vital organs, since the Blade of Grass went completely through him, I mean, if he survived that, he definitely can survive an impact of what seems to be the first tank-like mount in Terraria/Legend of Maxx. OR, he makes a reappearance in the Hardmode dungeon, if there is one.

      I think this panel was kind of a disappointment to me. Of course, June has that invincibility hack going on for her, Xylan “dies” in a tank accident (Probably didn’t die.), and now that we know for a while now that Aley can revive anyone, I think that’s a little over powered.

        Well,what annoys me,is that Jesse is doing this thing with June for plot purposes, but Aley did mention, that he would run out of fairy dust soon if the rate of death among the gang doesn’t decrease.

    Xane is my favourite character. then Xylan, then Maxx. June isn’t even ON my favourites list. At first she was, but her godlike powers have gotten very boring, and whenever she faces off against someone, I just think “Not again…”, and I know she is always going to win. It’s not even fun anymore.

    I have a theory. Jesse reads these comments right? And he probably knows that almost everyone hates June right? So I think that sometime in the near(ish) future June just gets absolutely humiliated.

      It’s not that she’s hogging the spotlight it’s the fact she never seems to lose or get beaten up when she fights.

        We already know why she’s so bossy, shes had the displeasure of dealing with multiple “chosen ones” for centuries and she’s always arguing to her superiors about being queen and/or having proper etiquette as a dryad (not to mention the whole war thing). One thing to note for everyone thinking she’s too op. She lets her arrogance get the better of her. Eventually she’ll meet her match (for all we know it could very well be Maxx).

        I’m pretty sure that the fact that she only helps maxx when he is going to die, or going to be coaxed into becoming a destroyer… because it IS her job to do that.. and supposedly no one can match june “yet”, as mentioned before by xylan.

    I guess Skeletron be coming in never? Would of been interesting to see that boss fight in the comic as the Eye of Cthulhu and the Eater of Worlds were shown in the comics.

    I got a theory a game theory (uh no) anyways the naida have deafted skeltron aka. A ancient necromarcers layer . got the powers and the loot before the war and got greed for power and started a war . That’s why no dungeon guradin murdering them .so yea no skeltron but maybey a skeltron prime

      As cool as that would be, Jesse’s only one person, and it would take an OBSCENELY long time for even a single episode to come out(Getting Redigit’s permission, voice actors together, animating every single frame). Besides, I think Jesse’s talent is in writing, not drawing/animating, which is why he chose pixel art in the first place.

        well we could do a kickstarter? also the terraria team loves maxx the little title thing with terraria even sometimes say the legend of maxx so permission shouldn’t be a problem heck they might even fund it as it would sort of be advertising!

        but yeah we shouldn’t count on it. the most important thing though is the creators wishes so we the (not really) humble fanbase can only hope… and wait
