    And finally, we see Maxx again, reborn as an evil overlord. Or maybe just the evil overlord’s henchman?

    What is that he’s wearing? Armor? A football jersey? I hate to admit it, but purple’s his color. He looks good in it.

    Is he going to grow his hair out and braid it all funny? It’s worth noting that Maxx noticed June’s haircut. Every good man notices when a woman does something different with her appearance.

    Btw, everyone’s faces were priceless. I’ve noticed that Maxx always has the totally cool, happy-go-lucky expressions while everyone else just stares in wonder/shock/horror. But mostly horror.

        Forgot to mention earlier; June’s never looked so shocked before (correct me if I’m wrong) in this comic. The fact that Xylan managed to surprise HER, of all people, speaks volumes.

        And the fact that Maxx is completely oblivious to their shock only makes is funnier.

        When I first looked at Maxx I thought he didn’t have any pants on. That would give me an amazingly shocked and horrified expression.

    Well, I expected Maxx to be revealed in a robe, not a combination of iron and demonite armour, but I guess we’re all wrong in some points in life.

    Maxx has something up his sleeve… I swear to kami he’s gonna kill Xylan and run off with the muramasa, two days later Xylan wakes up and eats a lot of food…. And then Krillin kills him….. Great comic as always Jesse!

    Hmm… this idea sounded crazy even in my head, but what if this isn’t Maxx? It could be Xane, if he can shapeshift or is really good at cosplay or something. Their personalities are sort of similar, though Xane is closer to the psycho murderer kind of crazy, and Maxx is more fun, hilarious crazy.

      Funny how you say that, because I actually used some artwork of Karel as a reference when I was designing Xylan’s costume!

    What happens: Maxx got the demon powers he always wanted and instead of using it to kill his friends, he kills Xane/Xylan.

    I really hope Maxx gets some awesome dark powers. The team could use somebody with dedicated Naiad magic since none of the actual Naiad seem likely to help them out.

      And then he steals the Muramasa and goes “Oh, cool!” and then accidentally kills Cyril, because we haven’t seen enough of that.

    I haven’t seen Maxx use a magic weapon yet. i mean he uses swords, he used a gun once, yet i haven’t seen him use a magic weapon yet to complete the appearances of weapon classes in this comic.

    Will our heroes defeat the evil Xylan?
    Will Xane return to chop them up and kill Cyril with his shark hands?
    Has Maxx joined the dark side (I think this one’s a no-brainer)?
    Has Maxx become any more intelligent?
    Will Cyril get to keep all the books from the amazingly colossal naiad library?
    Will we ever get to see the Djinn?
    Wil thes kwestien pis of gramer nasis?
    And just when will we see Maple and Poa again?
    All, some, or none of these questions will be answered in the next episode of…
    The Legend of Maian!!! I mean… Maxx!!!
