Cyril may not be smooth, but he knows how to tailor his analogies to his audience. In unrelated news, I have learned more about vikings during this arc than I had ever cared to know.

    Guys… I don’t think she will become the Party Girl when (or if) she becomes of the living again… I think she might stay as an original NPC throughout the comic.

        I heard somewhere that Zoidberg was a reference to something else, but Jesse was probably just referencing Futurama. HILARIOUS!!

    FYI for those people wondering ‘What the heck are they talking about?’ ,a skraeling is from old history with vikings. When they discovered some odd land they found them hiding under fake rocks and called them skraelings because they were screaming like the crap.

        The only one I got was the Grendel- Beowulf one, they are two enemies from the oldest piece of English storytelling recorded, Beowulf. But the rest are simply beyond my comprehention.

    Wow. It may just be me, but i think that Cyril won’t have to worry about upsetting Hannah anyway. He doesn’t need her.

    I’m surprised that Ina and Cyril are getting along this well. I first thought that they’d just be like “let’s get married and get it over with already” but nooooooo, you had to surprise us Jesse. 😛

    Great comic, Jesse, I really like the (I think) Zoidberg reference. Also, you mentioned thinking about doing another Maple and Poa comic in the last comic, and I gotta say, I’d really love seeing more of those guys, ’cause you know, they’re actually my OTP ^^

    The analogies don’t really work because Cyril and Maxx are on the same side and are not actively trying to kill each other.

      I don’t think Maxx hates Cyril; he might find him to be a bit of a stick-in-the-mud, but he’s friendly enough towards him. A few pages back he seemed pretty sincere (in that straightforward, not-quite-getting-it, Maxx kind of way) when he asked if Cyril wanted to talk to him as a friend about why he was upset.

      It just so happens that Cyril finds Maxx completely overbearing, unsubtle, oblivious, brash, and a bit thick, constantly inviting danger – and as his Guide, he’s stuck with him. Which, to say the least, inconveniences him on a daily basis.
