Comic #363

Hopefully that wasn’t a rare game. I like the implication that the cartridge Cyril found before was just one of a vast collection.

Could Maxx be deliberately sowing dissent among his companions to further his own needs? Well, probably not. But anything’s possible.

      1. If I remember correctly… the game comprised several levels and areas from some NES games (Mario Bros. for example). Each would have a challenge for you to do. That is really it I think.

Not 100% sure on this as it’s been awhile since I last saw that episode of AVGN…

  1. Sowing dissent requires patience, a quality Maxx lacks in the greatest sense of the word. Cyril has either gotten very strong moving all that gold, or can use magic subconsciously.

  2. nah he isn’t sowing for a particular reason i think, he’s just saying the reasons he can’t bother the others… or that’s what i like to think anyways

  3. I don’t think that I would consider the ‘zelda’ cartrige rare, but it is one of the best games ever made…..

  4. I guess Cyril’s disappointed he longer has to be Hannah’s knight in shining…silk robes. Speaking of which, I wonder If they’ll get upgraded into one of the gemstone robes.

    1. Also, I hope that wasn’t the Captain’s favorite game(Do they have the console or just the cartridges?)

      1. Also, I may have just figured out how they’re going to get out of there(probably not). Provided the seeds of discord are indeed sown and Cyril and Hannah get into a fight, Tyrone(the arms dealer) will suddenly appear, having followed the group offscreen. He will then proceed to go Heavy Weapons Guy on the vikings with the Minishark and silver bullets(silver being known for it’s effectiveness vs the undead and other supernatural forces.) Still needing an outlet too cool down after the fight, Hannah starts flirting with Tyrone to get Cyril jealous, a phase that will end around the time when they realize Cyril will need to sacrifice himself for Maxx to beat the Wall of Flesh. Whew!

      2. That would be pretty cool.
Except for the ‘flirting to get the other jealous’ thing. Dear lord, do I hate love triangles. I hate them more than anything, in terms of story tropes.
If this comic did that, then it would literally get me to stop reading this comic. Without a doubt.
*silently hopes Jesse reads this comment,*

      3. Yeah, the only reason I included that is because it’s stated in-game that The Nurse and Arms Dealer are dating. Not that game canon matters of course.

  5. how to escape:use awesome demon powers from dark lance in upper right corner to kill the vikings.

  6. That’s literally the only time Cyril has shown strength over the course of this comic. (And I’m going to assume that was a Tetris Cartridge.)

      1. Well, I don’t know what they did. But those things were made to take some damage. And believe me, they can take a serious hit.

  7. crossing my fingers for BUUUNNNNNNNNYYYYYYSSSSTTTOOORRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! in a very soon and future comic.

  8. I like how this story can go anywhere with everything that’s been going on. It just lets us keep guessing. I’m really excited as to how it all blows up!

  9. Hey, if Maxx wants to fight some skeletons, why not spit in their eye socket?
I think he’s good at that.

  10. I think they should use the gems in the room to upgrade Cyril’s robe, making him able to crush the captain’s skull. He probably could, if he could crush a (S)NES cartridge without magic.

  11. The dark lance keeps popping up in the background… i just know it will have something to do with a next comic
