Comic #335

Saruman’s trying to bring down the mountain!

…Oh, wait, that was Maxx and Cyril.

This one was an ordeal, mostly because every time I want to try a new effect I have to figure out a good way of pulling it off without weirdness. In a way I kind of like comics like these, since I learn more about drawing non-sprite things and using Photoshop, but on the other hand… well, they do take a while to make!

      1. what you did there

I see you too. Nice comic jesse! I love how you did the snow and I love this type of comic!

      1. Well.. since in-game fairies can’t fly more than 5 (approx.) blocks above the ground (solid blocks) and if this avalanche works as water (and lava/honey) because it goes down the hill, it doesn’t count as a solid block. (Sorry about my bad english and this is the only explanation I got for this question)

      2. No, those are pixies. we’re talking bout’ fairies here.
The ones from the fairy bell can go up infinite height.

    1. Hey, you were against these things before, I saw you do it a lot. Jesse said to stop this, even he’s tired of it. Just stop and let us all enjoy the comic without spam for once.

    1. Then again with such a nice looking avalanche they may get buried or end up in a cave with the exit buried.

    1. who are you calling? *hears a phone ring*
      *picks up phone*
      THIS IS A ROBBERY!
*DUN DUN DUN DUN!* *hangs up*

  1. Why didn’t Cyril climb up that tree before it came? Some trees tend to be able to endure an avalanche.

      1. Have you seen Living Wood? It goes down deep. With this same logic, Regular trees also go down deep.

      2. So by that logic you’re stating every other tree is dead. Maybe in the corruption, But other biomes tend to be “Lively”.

      3. The roots are just weak and small; in the dirt and we can’t see them, or they’re fourth layer

      1. Can’t really make that call yet as one game is in Beta (StarBound) and the other is a full release (Terraria). Wait till StarBound is also full release before making an opinion on it.

      2. You cant go wrong with either. And don’t go starting starbound is terraria’s copy. well, it is, but in a way, well some people who helped with terraria are helping with starbound now too, plus terraria + starbound = terraria 2

      3. I must say I prefer the terrarian graphics but wish the world would loop round, like in starbound. Terraria has more content though.

  2. I simply love the ” Oh Crap!” face on the characters.

Cant wait to see what will happen next.

  3. hm…im trying to make a comment, without any spam, and criticive like my last one. the only thing i can say really is i love the avalanche effect and i love the comic!

  4. Hey Jesse, I’m a HUGE fan of LoM and you inspired me to make my own sprite comic basing it around the guide. I just can’t seem to figure out how to edit his body to make his arm point out or him sit down 🙁 can you help me? 😀

    1. Honestly, there’s no shortcut to figuring out poses… all I can say is grab some sprites, open them in Paint, and then click around and see what looks good! Practice makes perfect, and while I still consider my sprites a far cry from perfect, I’ve gotten a bit better as I’ve continued the comic 🙂

  5. Frosted Mountain used Avalanche!
Two-hit combo! It used Sheer Cold!
    Maxx’s party took calamitous damage!

    The party was wiped out!

  6. BunnyFromFirstComic

how does this make sense? they were at the top of the mountain! an avalanche couldnt of come from above them like it SHows!
