This might just be the most ambitious ‘BWEEN’ of the comic so far. I’m not sure when this sound effect became such a staple for The Legend of Maxx, but I’m sticking with it.
Sometimes I’m amazed by my own ability to give myself extra work to do. The visual gag of the copyright bar being disintegrated came to me at the last moment, and I decided that I just had to include it. I think it adds a nice little touch to the very bottom of the comic page.
We are in the top 75 on TopWebComics, and less than 100 votes shy of passing xkcd! We can do this!

I think my favorite part is how the laser is instantly melting the sand to glass.
The laser singlehandedly makes this probably my favourite comic of all.
