We’ve seen June’s attempts at diplomacy fail before. But then again, there wasn’t much cause to be optimistic in the first place.

      I imagine Xygvane’s plans for peace likely had something to do with this. Marrying his soon-to-inherit the Naiad throne nephew to a soon-to-inherit the Dryad throne June would have been a serious step towards permanently ending the conflict.

        Still… I wonder how Xygvane ever persuaded young June into being Xylan’s girlfriend. But, we are still inferring that he IS her ex…

        Arranged marriages don’t require the lovely couple to be persuaded, only their parents/guardians. Unless his whole opening speech WASN’T sarcasm, Xylan probably wasn’t too thrilled either.

        Though since he’s male, I’m sure he saw some upsides.

        It started when she said she had an ex. And when she said that ex was a Naiad. I’m almost certain she did say that at some point.

      She can’t just stop, it’s her character. May as well tell max to stop doing stupid things, tell Tyrone to stop dying, or tell Xane to quit being a sadistic stabby naiad. It’s part of who she is, and unless something significant happens to her character, she can’t just stop doing it

        Yes, but her character wasn’t originally like this, I mean if you changed maxx’s personality too something different it would be catastrophic! 🙁

        I would not like it to stop, but I would like if it was less repetitive and June wouldn’t have a invincible plot shield. Now people are going to have to see me without a robe :O

        I just think june is the most powerful character, and…
        well I think she shouldn’t be, everything that is in june’s anger runs away or gets frightened, I mean what exactly turned her this way while she was queen? Because after she was done being queen, her attitude had a growth spurt!

      I don’t see any difference, June was always awesome and strong XD Though she did sit aside and let Maxx take care of things in earlier comics, Maxx isn’t here right now. Everything she does right now she seems to be doing in order to get him back on the right path. I love how tough she is, and I wouldn’t want Jesse to change a thing 😛

        I guess june will never be changed, since im the only fan who actually is annoyed by her change, but hopefully her anger issues don’t get worse 😉

      Aw but comics like these are just as important as plot comics! They keep it fresh and they keep up that light-hearted-banter side of the comic that we’ve all loved from the beginning! And there are always those silly little details (like Cyril reading the whole time) that make it extra worth it.
      Also I hate to disagree, but this comic was sort of a solid advancement to the plot. The group finally meets Xylan, and also we start to get an understanding of how June knew him.

        Disagree with what? First of all I never said this didn’t advance plot, I just said I wanted more plot, which is my own personal preference and Jesse does not need to act on it. I understand the importance of funny comics, but there’s been this huge build-up for a final battle for weeks, not to mention the final resurfacing of Maxx himself. The only “statement” you could “disagree” with in my comment was that that was hilarious, and if you disagree with that… What are you even doing here?

      He might have turned the page between panels, no need to edit a whole new pose of his sprite just to to show that.

      Anyway, I could absolutely believe it if he really was just too absorbed in reading to hear a word that was being said.

    Great comic as always XD Gotta love June talking down Xylan and the angry face. Also, Cyril reading the book during this whole time is just priceless 🙂 June continues to be the best character ever XD (In my eyes at least 😛 )
