In which we discover the one weakness of the ectothermic life form: body heat. Looks like Maxx dodged a bullet with that one. Or did he?

I will forever be amazed by the degree to which the comic has a mind of its own. Almost everything about the Lihzahrd – from how many of them there are to their personalities to what happens when they meet Maxx and co. – ended up different in the comic than how I pictured it in my mind.

Also: happy 2018, everyone! Hope you had a great holiday season. Here’s to another year of comics and video games!

    Been reading this comic since a year r so go, ad I was so sad when it “ended”, ad then it returned. My life has meaning again.

      She said warm, not hot, and humans are warm blooded, meaning hat we generally our own heat rather that absorb it from our surroundings. The lizhards are cold blooded, so making contact with a warm blooded creature gives them heat.

      well if you think about it, normal human body temprature is ~96 degrees farhenit, which would be fairly hot

        The human body temperature is about 37 degrees celsius, 310.15 degrees kelvin, 98.6 degrees fahrenheit and 558.27 degrees rankine. Only ever use the first two measurements. And for any xkcd fans out there 0.645772 radians celsius.

        The inside temperature is all that matters. If your core temperature changes by a few degrees, you can die.

      they might be inbetween, though, because they’re half human and half lizard thing (unless at half health, then they’re about 75% lizard)

        Rankine is the worst temperature measurement ever. Hardly anyone ever uses it. It is like Kelvin in the sense that zero is at absolute zero but it has increments that are the same as Fahrenheit. i.e. a change of +4 degrees Fahrenheit equals a change of +4 degrees celsius. Kelvin is the same but for celsius.

      I am curious why the leader keeps referring to them as “naked apes”. They’re clearly wearing clothes.

        Naked ape refers to Humans evolving from monkeys, or apes, and since the lihzahrd species isn’t evolved, they refer to them as “Naked Apes”, since apes and monkeys would be the human equivalent on their level of evolution.

        Uh, no. Lihzahrds are Cold blooded, and humans are Warm blooded, so basically, it’s like you just ran into a living, breathing, walking, fireplace.
        …not like, you walked INTO the fireplace, you just… you know.

    It’s nice to see that some post-hard mode stuff into the comic, despite the fact that the main plot is rigidly set around the night’s edge.

    PS are they going to face the WoF? Because A) it can easily happen unplanned (Maxx killing a voodoo demon or something) and B) it could also make it awkward. There’s a theory that the guide IS the WoF which could be funny but even if it isn’t it would still be surprising to see Cyril spontaneously explode.

    PPS if the lihzard temple/pyramid is responsible for the creation of the universe, you’d expect them to have something better than the heat Ray if the possibly predated the ML. But I don’t know, your comic your rules.

      I think that Cyril had a dark side, and when you throw the voodoo doll into the lava (or if you play on mobile and consume (does not mean eat) it) then the goodness in him goes away and the evil fraction mutates and tries to kill everyone. But when they “kill” it, it really gathers up all of the good guide, infuses the two together, wipes away the memory (except, maybe, the dying part) and goes back to heaven to respawn.

    Has anyone been listening to the recent DM Dokuro songs? In my opinion, it is better than the original Terraria soundtrack. If you haven’t heard it, it is basically the soundtrack of a huge terraria mod called the calamity mod. If you haven’t heard of the calamity mod… then leave. Now.

    Also, why do the Lihzahrds call the humans “naked apes”? They are just as much clothed or even more than the Lihzarhds.
