Comic #276

Those crazy Dryad. They just can’t get their biz together.

This comic took ages to make, mostly because I had to clear out space for/ construct the Dryad’s big council chamber, and design all of the elders you see here! The person to be the first to name all of the plants they’re styled after gets a virtual cookie.

  1. from left to right: bamboo/reed, acorn, willow tree?, mushroom, jungle tree, evergreen tree?

      1. Pretty much, yep! There are a few locations that exist in other worlds– most notably, the Pearly Gates Pub, since it required hardmode items and that was before I used item generation– but for the most part they’re all squished together in the same world. In fact, you’d probably be shocked to see the actual world and where the physical locations of things line up…

      2. hey jesse i was just wondering but when you finish that which i hope you get adleast 250 more comics out of this do you plan to release the world so we could reenact the comic moments?

  2. Bamboo, Oak, Willow, Fungus, Sequoia, Evergreen. (For evergreen, I’ll go with spruce)

      1. The one I labeled as sequoia? Second guess is… Errm, based on my minecraft mods, my last guess is acacia.

      2. The names of the five you got right are Bamboo, Acorn, Willow, Fungus, and Pine. The chubby one in the brown robe is Baobab!

  3. I just got a Minecraft premium card code for free! 😀 freeminecraftgiftcode{dot}net

    1. Sure, we’d love to go play that crappy adventure-building mess, written in Fisher Price’s My First Programming Language, by a guy whose only goal was to get a yacht.

For a scammer, you’re really a sucky one, can’t you at least choose a decent game to scam with? n00b scammers…

      1. screw off, minecraft is a perfectly fine game, although terraria is better, mc can become incredible with mods. no one cares about your opinion, I do agree scammers and spammers are pointless and stupid.

      2. It’s quite reassuring to hear that from someone who’s not even giving some sort of face or name to their opinions.

Anon, for when you just don’t feel like your opinions matter.

      3. *Wants to say something that actually makes sense to prove Minecraft is a good game but knows that people will think he’s the same guy Razor replied to and people will ignore him*

      4. Minecraft and terraria are both great games that are completely different and shouldn’t be compared. Minecraft is mostly focused on building and creativity, while terraria is focused on exploration and adventure.

      5. Razor Knight, I got interested in Terraria because it was a lot like Minecraft, but a lot not like it, and a completely different experience. Anyway, why are you talking about minecraft as an adventure-building mess, when Terraria another adventure-building mess, just focused on the adventure more than the building. Also, it seems to me that dismissing an opinion just because the one who voiced it is anonymous is a glaring example of close-mindedness. Also, Turtleblast, how is attacking an anonymous by dismissing their opinions bravery on the field of battle?

      6. Anons choose to be nobodies, and thus require not the respect one would offer to an actual person. There’s no bravery there, it’s just treating nobodies as nobodies, which is what any coherent human would do.

But you’re right on the other thing, there’s no comparing the half-assed 3D chunks of unstable bugs Minecraft is with Terraria. My bad, won’t do that again.

Perhaps when the new team’s done moving Minecraft from Java to a decent programming language, then it will be worth wasting time with. Until then, no sell.

      7. We aren’t nobodies, simply people who chose not to make an account. So you really should have. treated them as lazy people

      8. Ok, please just shut up. No matter what, people are people, and there opinions matter. Just because they have chosen to be anonymous doesn’t invalidate their opinion. You have officially lost all credibility with me, especially since the way you talk about Minecraft, you have never played it yourself, and are just biased against it because it’s made in a “Fisher Price’s My First Programming Language.” Yet another example of close-mindedness. Just so you know, I have had only one or two problems with bugs in Minecraft, and they were most likely from third-party add-ons. I find your accusation of “chunks of unstable bugs” to be completely unfounded.

  4. I love how she was starting as dramatic, to ‘you know what, I don’t give a pair of fetid dingo kidneys’ mode.

  5. Sooo… June’s already getting into kinky stuff with Maxx, huh? Wonder what the secret word is… Cookies?

Between the outfit and the leash, one doesn’t need to wonder what those two do off-screen. 😉

      1. Maybe what if Maxx is looking for a hook off screen to make his hookshot, but he crafted the required chains beforehand and and and yeah I’ll shut up now.

      1. I was referring to my experience of Legend of Maxx, not that I had created it. I thought that that was obvious. Apparently, it was not. I should be clearer next time.

    1. *Shakes fist in anger* BARROWMAN!

I really hope someone gets that reference.
But seriously, thank you, that post made my day.

    1. Acorns are basically the “kid” version of a tree. Reason why the “acorn” elder is so young.

    1. unstable bugs in minecraft? you dont know what your talking about. minecraft is very very stable and the only bugs that exist are minor lighting glitches and rare beta holes. the only real problem is mojang derped the heck out and made chunks load from far away inward towards you when generating new chunks

  7. Ok. i have finally decided that since no one else seems like there going to do it.
i will now start work on a LOM Tconfig mod for terraria.
i have no idea how long this is going to take so dont ask but i will try my best to make it fast but with quality.
ideas will be viewed and maybe used if you guys have any.
but dont get your hopes up on anything at the moment.
    cheers
    me

      1. exactly. but those are basic, im trying to make a LOM mod that is high quality and works well.
e.g. the LOM mod that you see in the fanstuff pages are really basic and not very well made. the ‘heartpoon’ is ridiculously OP if you use it even though it is extremely easy to make.
        my mod will be balanced.

A comment: I first downloaded that mod last year and pretty much checked it every day to see if an update had been released. but it never came and so now i decided to make one.

  8. Me after reading comic: I wonder what nice conversations are going on about the dryads
    *looks at comments*
*sees arguments about terraria and minecraft and horrible non-topic comments*
Me: I don’t know why there are arguments about minecraft and terraria? I love them both. Also some random comments that are off topic? Some people need a life
P.S I love the comic, I check on it everyday in case if there is a new one

    1. This dryad deserves a medal for what I believe is

“voicing what everyone not in the conversation thinks when they see said conversation”

      Award

      1. erm… Anonymous not dryad. Excuse me my brain was busy processing the aimless rage in the comments to word check for me.

      2. Honestly, this is exactly what I felt, I just had to speak my piece about the worth of anonymous opinion.

  9. KosmiComicReaderGR

”Wuzzat?!” LOL guys…lol…I would like to walk in a magazine store and see a book titled ”The Legend of Maxx” and a greek explenation on the back…I am greek and I might translate it with some machine & brain help of mine…

  10. i like how they don’t even consider using some sort of magical but maxx is my type of guy if this was me i wouldn,t change a darn thing and he sure can strike a pose

  11. Why this comic is way more fun than the crap at the real game :P,IF THIS WOULD BE IN THE REAL GAME THEN IT WOULD BE AWESOME

  12. I know this is off-topic, but can you tell us the really subtle reference in comic 268 already?

  13. so the council is composed of a crazy old guy, an old caretaker, a Chinese guy, a child(who is an elder?), friar tuck, and a tree with a mustache? what is this comic
